Pre-Owned Rolex Sky-Dweller Watches
When Rolex released the Sky-Dweller in 2012, it was a completely new watch collection that featured not only a novel design, but also innovative functions. The watch boasts a complication never before seen in a Rolex timepiece—the annual calendar—as well as a sophisticated GMT display and a Ring Command bezel.
Rolex Sky-Dweller Watches
The Sky-Dweller epitomises Rolex's dedication to innovation, practicality and luxury. It’s a watch that’s perfect for the modern globetrotter, combining aesthetic appeal with a useful travel-time function.
Rolex has left no stone unturned in ensuring the excellence of its Sky-Dweller. This remarkable watch is the Crown’s most complicated model, combining an innovative dual time-zone display and an annual calendar—cementing its place as one of the most sought-after timepieces in today's market.
When it was introduced in 2012, it marked the first time Rolex ever added an annual calendar function to one of its watches, making it a hugely exciting milestone release in the brand’s history.
Setting the Rolex Sky-Dweller apart from its counterparts is its unique set of features. The ingenious Ring Command bezel allows the wearer to conveniently set the date, local time, and reference time. Its intuitive Saros annual calendar automatically adjusts for varying month lengths, ensuring precise timekeeping without the need for manual intervention—except for once a year on the 1st of March, due to February having only 28 or 29 days.
In Rolex's portfolio, the Sky-Dweller holds a unique position as a beacon of technical prowess and elegance. Its iconic design, impeccable craftsmanship, and outstanding performance make it a true embodiment of the Crown’s commitment to excellence.
Powered by Rolex's ground-breaking movements, the Caliber 9001 and, as of 2023, the new 9002, the Sky-Dweller ensures extraordinary accuracy and reliability. The movement integrates several patented technologies, including the aforementioned Saros annual calendar and the Ring Command bezel, which facilitate easy adjustment of the watch's various functions.
While the date is displayed via a window at 3 o’clock beneath the signature Cyclops lens, the month is displayed via a small aperture next to each of the hour numerals. Handily, there are 12 months, just as there are 12 hours represented on the dial. The month is indicated by the aperture changing to red. If the red shows in the aperture next to the number one numeral, for example, then the month is January. Number two is February, and so on.
The Sky-Dweller’s robust and corrosion-resistant materials, such as 904L stainless steel and 18k gold, make it capable of withstanding daily wear. The Oyster case provides water resistance of up to 100 metres, ensuring protection against the elements even in the most demanding conditions.
Whether you're an avid traveller or a connoisseur of the finer things in life, the Rolex Sky-Dweller is the perfect companion.
In fact, it has won over numerous well-known personalities with its remarkable design and unparalleled features. Everyone from actor Tom Cruise to international tennis champion Roger Federer have been spotted wearing a Rolex Sky-Dweller. Federer was photographed wearing one during the trophy ceremony at the Australian Open in 2018, in which he won his hugely impressive twentieth career Grand Slam title.
With its distinctive design and undeniable prestige, the Rolex Sky-Dweller continues to be a symbol of success and elegance for celebrities and watch enthusiasts alike. You, too, can get your hands on a pre-owned Sky-Dweller when you shop with Watchfinder today.
